We’ve got some exciting news – we’re officially Pending B Corp certified! But what exactly is a B Corp? Think of it as the ultimate "gold star" for businesses that care about doing good – for people, the planet, and everyone in between. It's not just about being "green"; it's about balancing purpose and profit while being held to high standards across social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Building a business that does good has always been a big part of our story. "Good" can mean many things, but for us, it’s about making a positive environmental impact and doing right by our community, customers, and team. The question is, how do you measure all that goodness? How do you make sure that boosting one area doesn’t come at the expense of another?
That’s where B Corp steps in. With its thorough assessment in five key areas – Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers – we’re able to measure our progress against industry standards. This gives us a way to ensure we’re improving without losing sight of why we started this whole journey: to build a business that’s better for everyone.
About a year ago, we took the plunge and applied for B Corp certification. Since we were still a relatively new company without a full financial year behind us, we could only qualify for "B Corp Pending" status – which we aced (yay!). Due to the growing number of businesses aiming to do good (which is amazing!), it took a little longer to come through, but here we are, one step closer to full B Corp status now that we’ve reached our first birthday. 🎂
Over the coming months, you’ll start to see even more of the positive changes we’re working on in those five key areas. Whether it’s improvements to our services, community initiatives, or environmental impact, our commitment is clear: we’re here to make a difference.
